It’s not every year that we have the opportunity to publish more than one summer round up newsletter, so we’re happy to say that with all the additional warmth we’ve been afforded, an equally satisfying quantity of metaphorical hay has been made for our artists and clients in recent weeks.

Also, today is International Beer Day. Widely recognised as being one of the the greatest annual events of the year – and with our second Danish festival of the summer fast approaching – our ear canals are bursting their banks with anticipation and our taste buds are tingling hard. Haven, not only promising a killer line up and never-before-seen ‘Collaboration Concerts’, will be pouring a 110 varieties of specially brewed beers curated by the legendary Mikkeller brewery next weekend.

So what are you waiting for? Go and find out all you need to know about this IBD-approved event below whilst browsing through our latest releases, features, news, reviews, debuts, playlists, podcasts, shows, spins and signings… Skål!

2U4U [Online & Radio]

The three piece hip-hop group recently dropped their latest single ‘Gurl’, the final offering from their imminent debut EP. Drawn to the lyrically driven release, the track debuted on Afropunk, followed by the lo-fi visuals on Complex, before securing a deserved spot on ‘The World’s Chillest Show’ with Phil Taggart on Radio 1. Alongside support from Dazed, Dummy, The 405, The Line Of Best Fit, and a Cosign from XL Recordings, 2U4U also landed in ‘Alternative Hip Hop’ and ‘Fresh Finds: Fire Emoji’ on Spotify – topping off the summer with the EP release on 10th August.

Farveblind [Online & Radio]

The Copenhagen production duo teamed up with Steve Dub (Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy) and UK rapper Paul Stephan for their giant single ‘Jewels‘. They almost got arrested whilst shooting the video and the impressive outcome was recognised by creative art publication Booooooom. The collaborative effort picked up an equally wide range of praise elsewhere for its gritty rhythms on Complex and an industry nod from CMU’s ‘Approved’, amongst others. A great introduction to their new sound, ‘Jewels‘ is part of their forthcoming EP released via the Danish label Mermaid Records.

HOPE [Online & Radio]

The Berlin post-punk band already count Idles and Portishead’s Jim Barr as fans, and their latest video to ‘Drop Your Knives’ certainly built up a few more. Having described them as “fantastic“, John Kennedy made them his X-Posure ‘Hot One‘ following a flurry of online support from Clash Magazine and a ‘Track Of The Day’ feature on Get In Her Ears. Keep locked into Huw Stephens on Radio 1 for more, and don’t miss their first London show at Sebright Arms on 20th Oct.

Tape Notes Podcast [Print & Online]

Following on from the in-depth interview with Glass Animals’ front man Dave Bayley, Tape Notes have released yet another insightful episode with Jessie Ware and Dave Okumu. The cerebral podcast series, produced by In The Woods, dissects the relationship between artist and producer, going behind the scenes of an album’s creative process. Hosted by Radio X’s new music guru John Kennedy and with previous guests including HONNE, London Grammar, The Big Moon and Django Django, we kicked off the campaign with support from DIY and great words from leading podcast critic Miranda Sawyer in The Observer’s New Review – The Week in Podcasts.

Marek Kubala [3BarFire]

With our newest label signee Marek Kubala, expect the progressive electronics of Air, combined with acoustic sensibilities of Elliott Smith and Nick Drake. Paying homage to his Polish roots, the newcomers’ debut EP ‘Awhile‘ will be available to stream and download on the 10th August.

NAVVI [Coming up…]

We’re excited to be working with Seattle based, electronic duo NAVVI on the release of their second LP via Alex Ruder’s label Hush Hush Records. Having already been supported by Jay Z’s Life+Times, NME, KEXP and The Line Of Best Fit, expect to hear their bold, new electro-pop sound across the airwaves and over the world wide web this summer.

Haven Festival [Events PR]

Named last week in The Telegraph’s ‘Best Copenhagen Events’ feature, Haven pushes the boundaries of what a festival should be and succeeds in making it an experience like no other. With an incredible line-up featuring Arcade Fire, Brockhampton, Kamasi Washington, Moses Sumney and more, Haven also offers never before seen food concoctions, 110 different types of craft beer, award winning art installations and the recently announced ‘Collaboration Concerts’. If you’re unable to make it to the Danish capital next week, keep an eye on The Quietus to find out what went down this year.
