Following a booming start to the year, this month has brought a plethora of exciting artists to Outpost’s books; seeing us continue to represent the very best in upcoming music from across the globe. And it’s not just our clients who come to us for our valued expertise:  we are also proud to announce that Outpost’s very own Federica Furlotti, who during her 10 year career in music has worked with everyone from Bjork to Craig David, has been invited to tutor at the new School of Music Business (SMB) when it opens in April, leading her own ‘Introduction to PR’ course. Bring on March!

With Outpost continuing to lead the way in heralding the surge of Scandinavian talent hitting UK shores, we’ve been working with some of the most exciting musical exports the Nordics have to offer.

Vild Recordings

This month has seen us continue our long-running relationship with Finland’s VILD Recordings, promoting three of their hugely talented acts.

Helsinki-based duo White Balance release their latest slice of sugar-sweet electro pop with their new single ‘Hunter’ on 11th March. With an audio premiere on The 405 and early support from Indietronica and London In Stereo, the future looks bright for this enigmatic duo.

Following a premiere on The Line Of Best Fit, Jaakko Aukusti will be releasing his latest single ‘Himalaya’ on 4th March, ahead of an album release produced by Arturri Taira, the former frontman of Finnish rock band Rubik.

Hot off the back of his success with debut EP ‘Avalon’, whose LCMDF-team up track ‘Lace’ received international exposure thanks to features on The 405 and The Line Of Best Fit, View returns with his new single ‘Coldest Season’. After a premiere on Discobelle, the Finnish rapper is set to showcase his unique blend of wordplay at The Lexington tonight, 25th February, alongside Smerz and CTM as part of Ja Ja Ja Music Presents: A Nordic Affair.

KIll-JHaving topped the Hype Machine charts with her first single ‘You’re Good But I’m Better’, Danish experimental pop artist KIll J has smashed it again with her latest release ‘Trickle Trickle’. Premiering on Stereogum, the track has been taking the airwaves by storm once again, racking up multiple spins on BBC Radio 1Xtra fromJamz Supernova as well as becoming a firm favourite with Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, who has invited her for a session in March ahead of her forthcoming EP release.


Karo2_smIcelandic born Karó blasts back onto the scene this month with the follow-up to her 2015 single, ‘Silhouette’, which racked up almost 80,000 plays on Spotify and caught the attention of Hillydilly. Her new track, ‘Wolfbaby’, kicked things off with a premiere on Clashpreceding her performance at Iceland’s Sonar, and has since been ‘Track of the Day’ on The 405, as well as gaining support onIndie Shuffle and Wonderland.

This month has also seen the release of Berlin-based DJ, producer and record label boss Daniel Haaksmans long awaited ‘African Fabrics’ LP. With repeated spins on BBC Radio 1 fromToddla T, Mistajam and Huw Stephens, and support from BBC 6Music’s Nemone, Radar Radio and Ministry Of Sound, online coverage has come in the form of a premiere on SPIN, followed by posts from THUMP and Complex, an exclusive DJ mix forClash and print album reviews in respected publications from DJ Mag to Songlines and Record Collector.

With the biting cold of February, we couldn’t be happier to have the latest release from the ‘King of Carnival’ to heat things up. Trinidad’s legendary Machel Montanoteams up with Jamaican dancehall legend Sean Paul for ‘One Wine’, which has already racked up airplay on BBC Radio 1 from Diplo, Mistajam and DJ Target,with further spins from Beats 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra’s A.Dot and Trevor Nelson.

Multifaceted French electronic trip KCPK, who have worked with musical legends like The Chemical Brothers, Two Door Cinema Club and Brodinski, will release their new single ‘Who Wants It’ featuring Philly rapper STS, and accompanying remixes fromPOSTAAL, Haute and Darkly on 26th February. Already chosen to accompany the digital campaign for Yves Saint Laurent’sBlack Opium’ and with premieres on The 405 and Discobelle, March looks set to be a busy month for the group.

Podgy Figures


Already lauded as ‘a pioneer of UK rap’, Podgy Figures (who has worked with former NASTYCrew member and grime institutionGhetts) is preparing to drop his latest single ‘The Hardest’ on 11th March. Having garnered praise in the past from the likes of SBTV and GRM Daily, Podgy is already making waves again with a premiere on Clash to kick off the campaign.

SHA¥ Khushrenada

East London rapper SHA¥ Khushrenada’s 12-track mixtape ‘The Karman Line’, created in collaboration with his Astronaut Heroics collective, is set to drop on 11th March. Tenth track, ‘Candles’, is accompanied by visuals directed by E.Greaves, which have already been featured on GRM Daily and Lost Culture.
