End of Year Roundup 2017

As we step into Christmas next week, we’re taking a moment to reflect on another pleasing year at Outpost. We’ve had the good fortune of supporting a diverse mix of artists, labels, managers and events over the last 12 months, representing no fewer than 20 countries in genres spanning hip hop, grime, r&b, reggae, electro, ambient, alt pop and post rock.

We hope you find something new to enjoy within these audio, visual and written excerpts whilst tucking in to a responsible dose of whisky gingers and Brussels sprouts… mchny!

Publishing & Sync

In 2017 we’ve been pleased to welcome a number of incredible songwriters to our dedicated publishing and sync roster, including the likes of Matiryaloka, Hashback Hashish and Fos. Feast out on our sampler playlist here.

This year we’ve been making changes at Outpost Distro by joining the independent global rights agency Merlin. Our service now focuses on pitching directly for integral playlists at key DSPs and offering the best deal our clients. Read more about how we secure those crucial playlist spots in our detailed Outsight Report.

One of our brand new label projects comes from South London’s DJ/producer Grandmixxer. Bringing back the old school grime instrumentals, the debut EP features vocal versions from Nottingham MC Mez and YGG member PK.

It’s an exciting time for this department and we look forward to what’s in store for 2018!

S/O To Good Causes

Throughout the year we like to dedicate our resources to supporting the projects and events that our close to our hearts and making a positive difference to the world we live in (or at least London).

This year we shared JSTAR’s charity single for Grenfell, partnered with Kubic Music and SoulClash: a Hoxton night in aid of Climate Outreach, provided a number of artists for Sofar Sounds’ Give A Home show for Amnesty International and helped promote In Sound State, a Mind live event at 93 Feet East.
